Testerep on regional tv

DAE Research Visualisations Featured on National Television

We’re proud to share that our recent work on the historical reconstruction of Testerep , the now-vanished island off the Belgian coast, was recently featured on national television.

The broadcast highlighted new scientific findings about the ancient coastal landscape and how Testerep once functioned as an island rather than a peninsula. These insights are part of a multi-year collaboration between archaeologists, marine scientists, and coastal researchers across Flanders.

At DAE Research, our team contributed by transforming the scientific data into interactive 3D visualisations and reconstructions. Using advanced real-time technology, we helped bring the lost island back to life in a way that is intuitive, engaging, and accessible for both experts and the wider public.

We’re excited to see how digital tools can support coastal research, bridge communication between disciplines, and make complex scientific narratives more understandable.

A big thank you to our research partners for the inspiring collaboration and to the broadcasters for sharing this story with a national audience.
